Two Brothers Book Review
Two Brothers: Origin (A Ramtalan Trilogy)
Genre: YA What teenage boy doesn’t want to fit in and have friends? That’s what Argus Dachel, 17, wants more than anything, but because he’s half alien, and a New Breed, that’s not as easy as it seems. And it sure doesn’t help that he and his brother, Tai, are being pursued by a secret government agency. To top it off, now in their senior year at public high school, both boys risk exposure when Argus uses his extraordinary strength to defend himself against the school bully, falls for 16 year-old Lola and then learns that New Breeds are set for extermination by another group of hostile aliens. My Review:
I received
a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. Argus and Tai Dachel finally taste
freedom. They get to be normal teenagers
and enjoy their senior year in high school…even if it includes being tormented
by school bull, Justin Jones.
Unfortunately, Max Jackson is determined to ruin all of that. Added to that, Aunt Celeste has finally
explained their origin. That’s when
their entire world gets turned upside down.
Will they be able to keep Max Jackson away? Will they be able to control their ever
growing abilities? Will they be able to keep the freedom that they so briefly tasted?
This was
such an intriguing novel. Even though Tai
and Argus had these abilities, they still had morals. They were easy to relate to, especially
during awkward teen moments. Aunt
Celeste was a pretty good guardian although she was never really affectionate
to them. This was an awesome page
turner, one that kept me up to the wee hours of the morning. The end left me wanting more. I can’t wait for book two to come out so I
can find out what happens next! If you
like young adult or science fiction novels, you’ll love Two Brothers!
