Terramezic Energy Book Review

Synopsis:
When a mysterious and destructive magical force strikes near Sarasota, Florida, the chief of police assigns his best investigator and arguably strongest wizard, Josephine O’Connor, to the case. As Josephine studies and investigates this mysterious phenomenon, she learns that a young woman has become a lab rat to develop stronger wizards.

As Josephine tries to help the woman control her abilities, it becomes apparent that the new wizard has a volatile power that may prove impossible to contain. Josephine and her friends face their greatest challenge yet when a hostile AI known as APU 81, created by an advanced civilization, resurfaces and targets them for termination. APU 81 has plotted for centuries to enslave humanity and the time has finally come for it to carry out its sinister plans.

My Review:
I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Terramezic Energy is book four of The Grumpy Old Wizards series. In this installment, Alice and Helen have returned home and APU 81 is still at large. As they prepare for their eventual encounter with the Artificial Intelligence, Josephine is alerted to a massive disturbance that seems to occur in new category six wizards. When they finally track the wizard down, they are informed about the K Syndrome. Members of Brenda Kirkland's family all have the sudden surge in their power that far exceeds a category six. Unfortunately, anyone that has shown that kind of power fall prey to the same fate Brenda Kirkland suffered in 2029. As Josephine learns about this and battles with APU 81, she realizes that the problem is bigger than she can ever imagine and all of humanity is in danger. Will they find a way to take out APU 81? Are Charlotte and Yvonne somehow connected to APU 81's plot?

Once again, I was completely engrossed from the very beginning. This novel had so many twists and intriguing moments that I couldn't put the book down. There's lots of action and adventure; this book brings the series to a whole new level of awesome...I never saw this coming at all! If you haven't started this series, I strongly suggest that you do so. There's even evidence of a budding romance. I can't wait for book five, I wonder how John O'Riley will top this one!
