My Review:
I received a free copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review.
Alyssa McCarthy was sent to live with her aunt, uncle, and cousin Hailey after her parents' tragic deaths in a car accident. Things were great until a few years later, her Aunt Laura passes away from accidentally consuming raspberries. Little did Hailey and Alyssa know that there lives would change forever. Uncle Bruce becomes very strict, homeschooling them and hiring someone to look after them. Strange things begin to happen and neither the housekeeper, nor Uncle Bruce believes in magic. After all, magic is for little kids right? Will Uncle Bruce believe them before it's too late? Or will the evil wizard Duchamp get his way?
This was an amazing story of good versus evil, the importance of family, and love. Alyssa comes across as such a sweetheart, that you instantly begin rooting for everything to work out in her favor. I found the unique mythical creatures extremely entertaining and I honestly think that there's something in this book that every child will enjoy.
